The old adage "Hard work brings success" is no longer true, if it even was
ROMANS 8
Romans 8:3 explains, "for what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh"
The Law is a schoolmaster: Galatians 3: 24-25
What is a schoolmaster?
It refers to one who was entrusted with the supervision of a family, taking them to and from school, being responsible for their safety and manners. Hence, the schoolmaster was stern and severe in his discipline. (biblestudytools.com)
Hence, the law is a school master to us, to prepare us for faith in Christ by producing convictions of guilt and helplessness!
In other words, Christ (Emmanuel-God with us Matt 1:23) came in our likeness, but without our sin nature-to condemn or to judge sin through his death (and resurrection) on the cross, so we can live a life of righteousness through faith in him and the empowerment of his Spirit.
